Video request of motorized throttle body in action... Vanagon with inline 4 Motronic Engine, slight exhaust leak! :-)

Video request of Throttle Body Adaptation / Throttle Alignment via VCDS (VAG-COM)

Golf 5, cold / hot blend door lever... broken retainer clips. The owner said that the A/C does not work and that the
blower always blows warm/hot. When I looked at the control lever for the cold/hot blend door, I saw the lever
popped out of its seat and not engaging the blend door. Popping the lever back in place caused cold
and warm to return... but you can see that the lever drops as the cold / warm adjustment
is moved in the dash. A new blend door lever fixed the "warm all the time" issue.

Removing & Attaching Clutch Cable on an A3 VW... transmission end.

Removing & Installing the Selector Stop Cap on a 020 Transmission

Heater Box Door Flap repair... remove heater box and clean off all of the old foam.
Once clean, the doors can be re-lined with foam. I've heard of people also
having good success with Duct Tape... if you can't find the foam online.

A piece of vacuum hose attached to the end of a spark plug can help
prevent cross threading the threads when installing the plugs!

One-way Clutches on Alternator pulleys can seize and eventually fall off of the
Alternator shaft... causing more damage than the cost of just replacing a
seized Alternator Pulley. Have yours checked to make sure it is still OK!

To quickly check if a Fuel Pump Relay is the fault of a "no-start" on a CIS
engine... apply power to the control pressure regulator heater power wire
at its harness plug. If the engine starts, it's a good bet that the
relay is bad and needs to be replace. If the engine does not
start, check fuel pressure (both pumps) & ignition spark.

A4 VW rear brakes come apart quite nicely... make sure to inspect the parking brake cables as well!

Pressure Testing an Engine Oil Cooler... same can be done on ATF Coolers.
This one is broken, allowing oil to enter the cooling system (there is
more pressure in the oil system). For Testing, I pressurized the
coolant side of the cooler... air is exiting the oil side.

VW A4 Cabin Filter Replacement...

Center Driveshaft Support failure on a 2004 Touareg...
a quick & cheap Fix

Checking Cam & Crank Sync with a scope... rotate the distributor to Sync Waveforms
if they are out of sync... no need for a timing gun.

Vanagon Ignition Switch Removal...

Inspecting & Replacing VW A4 Handbrake Cables....

Current Ramping... a quick way to check the health of the fuel pump!

When changing the oil filter... check the oil cooler nut to see if it is tight!
A loose oil cooler nut can cause oil to leak from the top oil cooler seal.

Vanagon Fuel Pump Health Check (Brushes & Armature)... via Current Ramping!

Fuel Filter replacement on an A4 Jetta... good to change every 4/5yrs or 80/100K km.

Broken PCV 2-way check valve from a 1.8T engine... when this valve sticks or is always open
such as it is here, then it will cause engine misfire codes at idle, fuel trim codes and
boost pressure codes to be stored in the ECM. There's a hose that attaches to the
end of the valve, that then loops up to the intake manifold for manifold vacuum.

After the fuel pump stops running, the pressure in the system should remain above 28psi
for at least 10min... if not, then you have a leaky injector or a bad pressure regulator.
